Why Jaipur rewards slowing down
Jaipur packs forts, palaces, bazaars and some of India's best textile and gem shopping into a walkable old city, but the heat, traffic and density of sights make it easy to rush through and miss what makes it worth visiting. Getting around
- Autorickshaws and app-based cabs cover the city; agree on a fare upfront for autos without a meter
- The Pink City's old quarter is best explored on foot or by cycle-rickshaw: traffic inside the walled city is dense
