Why Udaipur packing is different
Udaipur is Rajasthan's most polished city: palace hotels, lake-facing rooftop restaurants, and boat rides on Lake Pichola mean the dress code skews a notch more formal than the rest of the desert state. Days are warm to hot most of the year, but evenings on the water or up on a rooftop can turn breezy and cool, especially in winter. It's also a city best explored on foot through the old town's narrow ghat-side lanes, so comfort and presentability both matter here in equal measure.
